Dear CrossRoads Family,
First, we want to continue to let you know that we are praying for you. Our church staff meets each week and we are lifting you in prayer. May the Lord place a hedge of protection around your families keeping you physically safe, mentally wise, emotionally hopeful, and spiritually encouraged. If we can be of any help to you or pray about anything for you, do not hesitate to let us know. Even if you have had to withdraw your child for this time, we want you to know that we are asking God's favor upon your family.
The state of Texas has asked childcare centers to remain open to care for the children of those who must continue to work. However, this past weekend, we received notice from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission that Governor Abbott issued Executive Order GA 14 that directly effects childcare in the state of Texas. This order limits childcare facilities to care ONLY for the children of those who are part of the 'essential workforce.'
It is important to note that many may be considered essential but do not realize it to be so. The state of Texas has released a webpage where people can read to determine if they are essential or not. Here is a link:
GUIDELINES DETERMINING ESSENTIAL WORKERS. (After clicking this link, scroll to the bottom to find definitions of essential workers.)
I want to encourage you to read the sections of this webpage that may apply to you. Also, keep in mind that you may be an essential worker who is working from home and if so, you would still qualify for childcare if needed.
To continue providing childcare for your family, we must have a completed Form 7625. It takes about 1 minute to complete. You can download it from here, print it, fill it out, and bring it with you today. We will also have some available in the office when you come to get your children today. Again, we must have these by tomorrow to comply with state regulations.
Also, to keep you informed, we are working hard to not release any of our employees during this time. However, we have a fraction of the children coming into the center right now giving us extra staff. These staff members are engaged in continually cleaning and sanitizing our center thoroughly. We are also continuing with all mitigation and guidelines for childcare centers from the State of Texas and Licensing.
We consider it a privilege to partner with you in Christian childcare. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
