CROSSROADS COMMUNITY CHURCH

Opening of in-person services

As we plan to re-open CrossRoads for in-person services, we want to ask you to follow the plan.  The results from our survey revealed that some people are ready to return to church immediately while others want to wait.  Some people do not think we should use things such as masks, social distancing, etc. while others definitely want to see these things.  And we know that 3% or so are not ready to come back even using these efforts.  The Church Board and I have worked hard to meet the needs of the church the best we can while also being considerate of people's health and concerns during this pandemic.

Our desire is to provide worship services for those who want and who are ready to meet together while continuing to produce a quality online service as well for those who are not ready or those who need to not come because of their own health situations.  Please keep in mind that should the virus situation change, these dates may be pushed back and the plan adjusted as needed.  We ask for your cooperation and patience as we all figure this out.  And we ask that everyone work toward unity and respect the plan coming from our Church Board.  Let's not let anything create discord amongst our church family.  Thank you very much and we love you all.

- Pastor Lee and the CrossRoads Church Board.

PHASE I: May 17th
We are asking...
  • To wear masks.  Those on stage will not wear masks while they are on stage.
  • To greet one another without hugs and handshakes
  • To sit in families using social distancing between families
  • To not bring in food or drink and we will not be providing coffee and donuts
  • To give their offering using the offering boxes in the foyer or the Church Center App.  We will not be passing the offering plates, communion supplies, or bulletins.  Please download the app to stay connected.
We will also not have...
  • Sunday School.  We believe the sizes of the classes and rooms do not allow for social disstancing.
  • Nursery or Children's Church.  However, we will have Children's Activity Packets including a digital version with links to Christian Children's videos for children who do not enjoy coloring, etc.
  • Van Ministry.  The van ministry does not lend itself to social distancing.
We will have...
  • LifeLines.  These are beginning the week of May 17th.  LifeLines will have the choice to meet online or in-person, but with masks and social distancing without food or drink.
  • Youth Rallies.  Youth Rallies will be happening, but also with the use of masks and social distancing without any sports, interactive activities, or food and drink.
In addition, we will be...
  • Sanitizing the sanctuary between services
  • Sanitizing Youth Rally and LifeLine areas weekly besides the regular cleaning
  • Sanitizing the restrooms on Sunday at 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, and 12:30

PHASE II: June 7th
  • Children's Church and the Nursery will re-open.  However, for the nursery, we will staff five rooms instead of two and children 6 and younger will go to the nursery.  We will be using this number of rooms to keep the number of children in each room very low.  And Children's Church will be for those 7 years to 11 years old.  They will be using social distancing seating without interactive activities.
  • We will also re-evaluate the use of masks at this time to see if they will continue or not, but all other efforts will continue.

PHASE III: July 5th
  • We hope to re-open Sunday School classes and resume the van ministry, but we will re-evaluate before making a final decision.
  • Children's Church and Nursery will stay the same

PHASE IV: TBD
  • At some point, children's church, LifeLines, Youth Rallies, the nursery, the use of masks, and seating will return to some degree of normalcy.  However, everything is fluid and we do not know what that will look like.  We plan to continue sanitizing between services and sanitizing the restrooms regularly on Sundays.  In everything else, we will adapt as necessary.
